in Beccles, offers voice and sight-singing tuition, given by Mary Nicholson.
Riverside Singing Studio is situated by the River Waveney in Suffolk.
MARY NICHOLSON trained at the Royal Academy of Music, prior to joining the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, as a soprano in 1967. During her time at Covent Garden she gained a place to study with one of the country's leading singing teachers, Joy Mammen.
Four years later, Mary moved to Scotland, and for 20 years taught singing at a major public school where her husband had been appointed Director of Music.
While in Scotland she continued her singing studies in Aberdeen, with the distinguished baritone John Carol Case.
During her years in Scotland Mary continued her singing career as a soloist, frequently performing with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the conductor Roderick Brydon.
Operas and musicals became a regular feature of the school's musical activities, and many of her pupils went on to train as professional singers.
She has lived in Beccles since 1991, where she has continued to teach singing privately.
